‘Behind the Grid’ takes us behind the scenes at National Grid and the UK’s electricity system to discover how electricity is delivered from where it’s generated all the way to our homes and businesses.

Our curious and climate conscious presenter James Stewart travels around some of the key sites that keep our energy flowing - from mainland Europe to the cave systems beneath ‘Electric mountain’ in Wales. Along the way he meets some of the amazing people that keep the lights on, and finds out how the grid is changing to ensure it’s cleaner, greener and fit for the future.

Filmed over 6 months and distributed across four half hour episodes, Behind the Grid gives audiences unparalleled access into one of the most important sectors of the UK economy, and demonstrates how important it is for our lives now, and for generations to come.

The series garnered 1.5 million views, 5,700,000 minutes of watch time, contributed to a 300% growth in YouTube channel subscribers, and has become the most watched, liked and commented piece of content from National Grid outside of paid campaign video.

"Working with Brickwall just feels right. I need impactful, educational and emotive content, which under the team's direction and strategy, we've nailed every time.

Going above and beyond, there's always a sense of pride in the projects we've worked on, it becomes more than just the next job and that's clear in the outputs. No ask seems too big and the work comes together with a smile, every time!"
