Transforming mental health outcomes through

early years emotional literacy

Classroom Wide.jpg

With one in every six children being diagnosed with a mental health condition in the UK, early intervention is key.

Many children are not getting the support they need as they do not meet the minimum threshold for specialist care, or are on a long Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) waiting list.

Embers the Dragon is a unique combination of children's animation series, a digital app and an integrated parenting course and support network.

Clinically proven to improve the mental wellbeing of under 5s and their families, the programme is undergoing further trials with London Southbank University, funded by the NiHR.

"If you haven’t met Embers and his friends yet you need to. We were first introduced to Embers the Dragon through my daughters school who were part of a research trial.

Unlike other children’s programs... prodding at my mum guilt when I least expect it, I now feel proud and excited at all the things I do for my girls. The girls love Embers, and he is now firmly their favourite use of screen time and play time.

I give the Embers the Dragon programme 5 stars! – or maybe that should be golden Keiki leaves?"
