The WHO wanted to address common communication challenges between health and finance ministries, helping health officials better articulate their value. They needed a lighthearted yet impactful film to open a global conference and serve as an evergreen resource.
We crafted a unique concept featuring Geert van Maanen, a former senior official in both ministries in the Netherlands. Geert played two versions of himself—one as a finance minister and one as a health minister—arguing over funding. This humorous but insightful approach highlighted the stereotypical tensions between the two sides while showing a path to cooperation.
The film debuted at a European health systems conference in Tallinn, where it was enthusiastically received and helped set the tone for productive discussions. WHO officials praised it as a conference highlight, and it has since been requested for use at multiple other global events.
